Texas Power Plant Ranks 4th in the Nation as Heaviest CO2 Polluter

Pandango: The EPA 2011 Gas Inventory Report reveals that Martin Lake Power Plant in Tatum, Texas is the 4th largest emitter of CO2 in the nation at 18,701,286 metric tons of GHG pollution each year.

The EPA just recently announced to the public that "This information can be used to help businesses track emissions and identify cost– and fuel–saving efficiencies, identify industry leaders, inform policy at the state and local levels, and provide important information to the finance and investment communities."

San Antonio also has some large CO2 polluters as well.  The EPA website lays bare all the information that we might have suspected, but now know is true - power plants are the largest emitters of CO2 that we have in our country.
