I watched The Rachel Maddow Show last night (November 10, 2011) discussing the Herman Cain sexual harassment issue. She did a good job bringing out the fact that the Cain team is doing everything they can to deflect the issue away from him and onto somebody else. It would be beneficial if all reporters stayed on target and discussed Herman Cain the predator instead of chasing all the other rabbits that the Cain camp wants you to chase. Maddow pointed out that Cain's team will even out-and-out lie to get reporters off track and fact-checking some other issue.
Stereotyping of women was also discussed, and the reader needs to realize that stereotyping is also a propaganda technique - and can be very effective if the negative stereotyping is repeated over and over to gullible listeners. But last night on her show, I think that the stereotyping issue was discussed the wrong way. A reporter who sees the wrongs of what the Cain Campaign is doing should focus on those wrongs without repeating the inflammatory stereotyping statements. Maddow's guest was repeating these really ugly nasty things the Cain camp is either saying or insinuating about women and that is not the right way to go about it, because indirectly her show is helping reinforce negative stereotyping. Repeating the negative statements to the audience will be what the listener will remember and may or may not come away from the conversation with the idea that stereotyping is a bad thing and is being used to diminish and dehumanize women. Negative stereotyping of women diminishes who they are and dehumanizes them in the eyes of the public. Don't focus on their negative stereotypes, but instead focus on the positive stereotypes of women and repeat those over and over if you want. A reporter has to be careful when dealing with an opponents propaganda, because they can unwittingly reinforce what you are trying to condemn!
The fact is that the allegations against Herman Cain are real, and Herman Cain preys on women like a rapist does who seeks dominance and control.
That's the fucking truth. Don't be a fool. Don't be fooled.

Obama Strategy: Delay Keystone XL Pipeline Decision (for now)
Climate Progress was pretty upbeat about the news that Keystone XL Pipeline construction would be delayed. Bill McKibben of Tar Sands Action was also upbeat.
I heard a report on NPR this morning that wasn't as upbeat. They reported that the decision will be delayed for a year until after the 2012 presidential election, and that the report was going back to the State Department for a review on environmental impacts on sensitive areas in Nebraska like the Sandhills area and the Ogallala aquifer, as well as looking for a new route through less sensitive environmental areas. NPR reported that the State Department will not be looking at the effects the pipeline will have on climate change (which is my main concern).
This is the best decision politically for Obama. He appeases the environmentalists (for now) and because he didn't reject the pipeline outright, the chance for the pipeline to go ahead still remains.
NPR also reported that TransCanada was not overly disappointed by the decision and said that they are confident that the pipeline will still get the go-ahead. TransCanada seems to be as certain that the pipeline will be built as Climate Progress is certain that it will not be built.
Here's what I think happened: I think Obama discussed the sensitivity issue with TransCanada. I'm sure he explained that an election year is approaching. He probably told them that a re-review to build the pipeline was going back to the State Department but that it's not a dead issue. I'm sure Obama wants to see how much kick-back he gets from protesters when the State Department comes up with a new route that isn't as environmentally sensitive. The Obama administration is looking at a divide and conquer strategy. If you take Nebraska protesters out of the equation, how many protesters will be left who are willing to fight over this? Obama is smart. He's thinking two or three steps ahead. The Nebraska protesters were a large part of the lobbying and protesting.
The tactic of delay is used a lot in politics. It's a good strategy, and it seems to be the main strategy with climate change; delay and deny; delay and deny. I'm sorry to tell you this Mr. McKibben, but Obama is trying to diminish your protesters and gain a marginal victory by appeasing environmental groups concerned about the land and Unions concerned about jobs. Those of us who care about climate change won't get shit. Bill McKibben better count his numbers.

Taking a Deeper Look at Pro-Life (Part 1)
I'm going to skip the debate on when life begins, and start from a more obvious place - birth - which is the day the baby is delivered and a new life is vividly realized. From that point on we know we have a life, and now the real journey begins.

I hear phrases like "all human life is sacred" or "the sanctity of individual" or "we are all God's creatures". All of these phrases help to define a human as precious and invaluable. Sacred, as defined by Dictionary.com means: 6. secured against violation, infringement, etc, as by reverence or sense of right 7. properly immune from violence, interference etc. The word ssanctity is defined as holiness, saintliness or godliness. These are very strong words used to describe a human individual.
Our Founding Fathers understood the full concept of what it is to be human. Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness is a well known phrase in the United States Declaration of Independence. These are our "unalienable rights", meaning that we are born with these rights. They are universal - for everybody - no exceptions. Thomas Jefferson, who wrote the Declaration of Independence, understood what it meant to be human, and believed that enjoying the fullest extent of our humanity involved being able to secure and enact these rights. He also understood that these unalienable rights could be taken away unfairly by some who wished to strengthen their power and enrich themselves. I would say that he was a true pro-life advocate, not just in words, but also by his actions. Just being born does not ensure that you will be treated as a human. Being treated as a human means having secured these unalienable rights, and then being able to act on them. Not having just one of these rights, takes away part of our humanity.
So if life is to be truly valued and appreciated the way that our society says that it should be valued, then we must make sure that at the very least the minimum necessities of our children are provided for. What are the minimum necessities? By 21st Century United States standards, I believe that these necessities should include 8 things: quality food, quality shelter, quality clothes, quality education, clean air, clean water, a sustainable environment, and quality affordable health care.
I understand that it's not a perfect world, but shouldn't every child be offered these necessities of life - if life is truly sacred? Right-to-life doesn't end once the child is born. The inability or ignorance of our society to provide these 8 necessities to our children is something that we can and should change. It is an obvious fact that life extends well beyond the womb, and that birth is only a very small step in what will hopefully be a long and meaningful journey. In other words, a child's right at life should be defended just as vigorously as a child's right to life. Their humanity depends on it.

Herman Cain Uses Propaganda to Defend Himself against Sexual Allegations
| Predator |
Seems Herman Cain hasn't been treating the ladies so nice lately. In fact, five women are accusing Cain of improper sexual behavior.
What I'm most interested in, however, is the propaganda Cain is using to defend himself. It's some pretty powerful stuff, and I'm going to go through it in detail bit-by-bit, and explain what it is he's doing, and why he is doing it.
What I also find very interesting is that these same propaganda techniques Herman Cain is using to defend himself against these sexual allegations have also been used by: Mob Oil, climate deniers, and cigarette companies. This is surely coming from the same propaganda playbook. After all, if it worked for Mob Oil, it will surely work for Herman Cain. He has the same funders.
Here are some of the main propaganda techniques I have observed:
DENY:
The favorite trick of any accused person, climate skeptic, presidential hopeful, Mob Oil, politician, or anyone else in a tight spot. When the sexual allegations were first being discussed, Herman Cain immediately denied having known anything about his accusers or what he was being accused of: "staunchly denies" Oct 31, "I don't even know who this lady is" Nov. 8
Just keep denying because there is nothing to defend if you deny. Leave it up to others to pull up the bad goods and allegations. But until they do - deny.
DEFLECT:
Once your accusers start producing the hard evidence, and denying doesn't seem to be working as well, move on to the next technique - deflect. That is, Deflect attention off of yourself and place it onto somebody else. This technique allows you to go on the attack instead of defending all the time, and attacking is a hell of a lot better than defending. There is a target audience that these deflecting statements are focused on, and if you are part of this audience, you will feel very strongly about what he's saying. You don't necessarily have to be a conservative to be target. So who will he (or the conservative media) deflect the attacks towards? racist liberals afraid of a strong conservative black men, Rick Perry Camp, same racists who persecuted Clarence Thomas, opportunistic women, Democrat Machine, conspiracy, liberals, media. This tactic has been working like a charm. The media is being drawn to these nonsensical deflections that have nothing to do with the sex allegations, and that's a good thing for Herman Cain, because where the media focuses, so does the public, and before too long, no one is focusing on the real issue at hand which is - Herman Cain is a predator on women. These stories and headlines will lead the media and the public on wild goose chases and to far off places, investigating to see if Cain's statements are true, and that's exactly what the Cain campaign is hoping for. Just don't focus on Cain the sex fiend.
Case in point. At the press conference last night after Herman Cain finished giving his propaganda speech, Lee Ross, a reporter from Fox News asked Cain this question:
Ross: You made several mentions of the "Machine" - the "Democratic Machine". Who is involved in this? Is it a conspiracy?
Ah, no. Wrong question. Wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong. The question should have been about Cain's sexual behavior and the women he has harmed, not about a conspiracy theory.
You see how the words of his speech were able to deflect from the real issue, and bring the attention to something that doesn't even exist - a conspiracy??!!!! Give me a break. That is the impact that powerful propaganda can have on people if they aren't paying attention to how they are being manipulated.
VICTIM:
This bit of propaganda goes along with the DEFLECT propaganda above. There are some very strong and emotional words being used by Herman Cain and his campaign like: racist, racist attacks, liberals, persecution, opportunistic women, smear campaign, Clarence Thomas, conspiracy etc. These words can arouse strong emotions in the listener or reader, and if you're the right target, these words can make you feel sorry for the poor slug, or angry against the enemy (whoever you might think that to be). In propaganda, when you play the victim, the number one thing that you are trying to achieve is for people to feel sorry for you, and not for the person you have done harm to. This isn't easy to do, but I have proof that it is working for Herman Cain, but I'll get to that in a minute.
Tonights speech by Herman Cain really locked in on the victim role. Cain focused on the following things: Just a businessman trying to make it to the White House; doesn't know his anonymous accusers; he's being persecuted; the Machine is trying to keep him out of the White House; and baseless attacks.
Then his attorney, Lin Wood, chimed in with these points: he has represented many innocent clients, accused by false accusations, and no rules in the media for accusing a man.
So the picture they are trying to paint with their propaganda is that Herman Cain is the victim, not that Herman Cain is a predator (which he really is).
DEHUMANIZING:
Playing the victim role, when you've done bad things to other people, can be a difficult task. So the next logical step is to dehumanize those you've hurt, and diminish their status as human to just a number or thing. The fact that some of the women have remained anonymous has helped his cause in dehumanizing. It is hard to feel sorry for someone if you can't even see their face. Referring to these women as numbers is dehumanizing like: #1 #2 #3 #4 #5. Reminds me of another group that was dehumanized during World War II and given numbers as identification. This anonymous scenario also plays well with the conspiracy propaganda i.e. how do we even know these women exist? Where are they? Who are they?
Even though we now know who two of the women are, Cain will never say their names. Names are bad when dehumanizing. Real people have names. And real people also have feelings and children and families and...well, you get the idea.
In an interview on the Jimmy Kimmel Show , Cain was careful not to mention any of the women's names, and dehumanized them as he explained his situation about watching one of the women accuse him of unwanted sexual advances.
Herman Cain: We watched it because we didn’t even know that this whole thing about woman number 4 was going to even come out, so that was a surprise...At least it wasn’t one of the many that have the first name anonymous. This one actually had a name and face. We are dealing with it. We are taking this head-on.”
As a casual listener you might think these statements are insensitive and demeaning but not understand what he's trying to do. Diminishing who these women are and what they've been through is all part of dehumanizing. He needs to be the victim, not the women who really are the victims.
---------------------------
Just a couple of more thoughts:
Last night, November 8, 2011, on The Rachel Maddow Show, there was a bizarre discussion between Rachel Maddow and one of her regular guests, Melissa Harris-Perry, a politics professor at Tulane University.
Talking about Herman Cain and the sex allegations, Harris-Perry admitted to being a little stumped as to why people are still supporting Cain the way they are, and how this doesn't follow her political science model. Then Harris-Perry quickly diverted the conversation to defending women and how the media has somehow shown women to be opportunistic gold-diggers (or something like that). Then Harris-Perry went on to compliment the Republicans for a job well done in being able to defend their candidates from public scrutiny. Really bizarre stuff. But what she didn't realize, is that her political science model doesn't work because the supporters of Herman Cain are being manipulated psychologically. And when people are manipulated, they act in ways one wouldn't expect.
Propaganda made a zombie out of Melissa Harris-Perry. The emotions involved in the propaganda regarding women's issues had a profound impact on her, and Harris-Perry was an unknowing target. So instead of attacking Cain for his mistreatment of women, she disputed stereotypes of women and complimented Republicans.
Lastly, I told you that I would prove that Herman Cain's propaganda is working. The next day, after the scandal broke, Herman Cain raised $250,000, and in just one week after the scandal broke, Herman Cain has raised $2 million and his poll numbers, incredibly, have remained steady with Romney.
Shows you just how powerful the propaganda machine can be. Don't be a fool. Don't be fooled.

French Prime Minister Lobbying Obama for Months to Approve Keystone XL Pipeline

Pictures shows boy playing with his pet anaconda. Isn't the U.S. doing
the same thing with the Keystone XL pipeline?
According to Environment News Service there were an estimated "12,000" protesters in D.C. this last Sunday encircling the White House. The story echoes most of what I had to say about it on Saturday in my blog: The Anaconda Plan or Canada's Great Snake.
There is another good article about this Sunday's protest by CBS News. It shows some good pictures of protesters (and someone dressed up like a polar bear) carrying a huge black inflatable pipeline. It mentioned that the 1997 Noble Peace Prize winner, Jody Williams, was there. It also mentions some other famous people.
Obama has said that he will make his decision about the pipeline possibly by the end of this year, maybe later. I wonder how long he might try to defer his decision? Could he defer until after the election? Is he hoping we will support his election campaign if he can just keep putting off this decision? Is this is all just a wait and see delay tactic by the White House? Honestly, he needs to go ahead and show us who he stands for - Mob Oil or the people and environment. I don't trust him if this decision keeps getting put off until after the election. We need to see where he stands. No decision is just like a "yes" decision in my book.
Here is an interesting article about the Prime Minister of France lobbying Obama at the G20 summit to approve the Keystone XL pipeline (French Prime Minister Lobbying Obama). Apparently the French Prime Minister, Stephen Harper, has been lobbying Obama for months. How come we aren't hearing about this in our news media? I think this is an important story as well. Don't you?
Mob Oil: Ongoing Oil Spills and More Oil Spills
One of the things that pictures can't show you is how bad an oil spill smells. Even a minor spill can irritate the nasal passages - making it difficult to breathe. Keep this in mind when you visit the links in this blog.
The last link on this page will lead you to a disturbing news story out of China, which actually shows firemen swimming in oil. It is unbelievable.
----------------------------------
I was curious....how much oil has been spilled into the Earth's oceans this year? I know I hear some stories, but they go away. Here is what I found:
Oil spills around the world in 2011:
2011 Tauranga oil spill in New Zealand. Vessel spill. Still ongoing since October 5.
2004 Taylor Energy Wells in United States Gulf of Mexico. Still ongoing!!
2011 Esso/Shell North Sea oil spill in United Kingdom North Sea.
2011 Yellowstone River pipeline spill in one of our beautiful national parks in the United States.
2011 Peace River Rainbow pipeline spill in Alberta, Canada.
2011 Mumbai-Uran pipeline spill in India, Mumbai, Arabian Sea.
2011 Fiume Santo power station Italy, Sardinia, Porto Torres.
These are bad enough, but look at all the oil spills in 2010!!
2010 Mumbai oil spill/ MV MSC Chitra and MV Khalijia 3 in Mumbai, India, Arabian Sea
2010 Barataria Bay Gulf of Mexico, United States, Barataria Bay
2010 Talmadge Creek oil spill, United States, Kalamazoo River, Calhoun, Michigan
2010 Xingang Port oil spill China, Yellow Sea
2010 Jebel al-Zayt oil spill Egypt, Red Sea
2010 Red Butte Creek oil spill, United States, Salt Lake City, Utah
2010 Trans-Alaska pipeline oil spill, United States, Anchorage, Alaska
2010 MT Bunga Kilana 3, Singapore, Singapore Strait
2010 ExxonMobil oil spill, Nigeria, Niger Delta
2010 Deepwater Horizon, United States, Gulf of Mexico
2010 Great Barrier Reef oil spill/ MV Shen Neng 1, Austrailia, Great Keppel Island
2010 Port Arthur oil spill, United States, Port Arthur Texas
2010 Yellow River oil spill, China, Chishui River, (Shaanxi River )
The list goes on and on...to find out more information about the spills I listed, or to further your depression, just click on the link below for more oil ejaculations into our oceans, rivers and pristine places...
List of Oil Spills
For another great article on oil spills in 2011 check out this story: CBS News
This one is hard to take. If you click on the link it will show pictures of two firefighters in China attempting to clean out a water pump after an oil pipeline explosion in Dalian on July 16, 2010..."the fire was put out after 15 hours of burning. The cause of the accident was still under investigation. According to CCTV, about 400,000 gallon of oil was spilled into the Yellow Sea, which heavily polluted over 160 square kilometers of the sea water. (The BP oil spills at the Gulf of Mexico was over 100 million gallons)" Dalian pipeline explosion
These are the pictures Mob Oil doesn't want you to see.
